Wow! Gorilla Commission - ongoing.Bristol Zoo celebrated its 175th anniversary this summer. In conjunction with this, and to raise awareness of the potential extinction of the silver back gorilla in the wild, selected artists were invited to paint life size fibreglass gorilla sculptures, that could be spotted all over the city until September. This provided a welcome summer tourist attraction if you are interested in gorilla spotting. Follow the Wow!Gorilla public art event on Bristol Zoo's Wow! Gorilla Facebook page. Kindly sponsored by the Radisson Blu Hotel, I painted their gorilla "Bradisson" in June as artist in residence in their bar area. Bradisson was in place outside the hotel for the summer. He was one of a small number of the gorillas to be chosen to transfer to London and has now been auctioned for charity.
